FOLK AND BACHELOR ETYMOLOGY IN HISTORICAL-LINGUISTIC PERSPECTIVE (ON THE EXAMPLE OF CAUCASIAN, CZECH AND HUNGARIAN ONYMS)
The article examines the phenomenon of folk and so-called "bachelor" etymology in the context of historical linguistics. Using examples of Caucasian, Czech, and Hungarian ethnonyms, anthroponyms, and theonyms, it analyzes the relationship between folk, pseudo-scholarly (bachelor), and scientific etymology, as well as the functioning of erroneous or pseudo-scientific interpretations. Special attention is paid to historiographical cases: the Colchian-Sarmatian theory of the origin of the Czechs and Poles, the views of Polish and Czech historians of the 18th-19th centuries, and Hungarian expeditions to the Caucasus in search of traces of the Magyars. The study demonstrates that folk and bachelor etymology should be regarded not only as manifestations of metalinguistic reflection but also as cultural constructs capable of influencing historical consciousness and national narratives.

INNOVATIVE METHODS OF SOCIOLINGUISTIC FORECASTING AND THEIR USE FOR PLANNING LANGUAGE POLICY IN RUSSIA
This article addresses the pressing issue of modernizing the toolkit of sociolinguistic forecasting in the context of the state language policy planning of the Russian Federation. It examines the transition from traditional trend-based extrapolation methods to innovative approaches that integrate corpus linguistics, computer modeling, and Big Data analysis. The core problem lies in the insufficient predictive power of classical sociolinguistic methodologies in the face of a rapidly changing media environment, intensifying global language contacts, and the transformation of identities. The aim of the study is to systematize and assess the potential of the latest forecasting methods for solving applied tasks of language planning, such as optimizing support for the Russian language and the languages of the peoples of Russia. The analysis demonstrates that the application of artificial intelligence technologies for monitoring digital communications, agent-based modeling of language shifts, and network analysis of discourse enables the identification of latent trends and the construction of more accurate scenarios of language development. Particular attention is paid to the ethical challenges and methodological limitations of the new approaches. The conclusion emphasizes the necessity of developing a comprehensive system of sociolinguistic monitoring and forecasting as a key element of an evidence-based language policy in Russia, as well as the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between linguists, political scientists, and data science specialists.

CONSTITUTIVE FEATURES OF NARRATIVE: LINGUISTIC APPROACH (BASED ON THE MATERIAL OF ADVERTISING DISCOURSE)
The article examines the constitutive linguistic features that form the space of a narrative implemented in discursive practice. It is shown that a simple sequence of events is not enough to realize the narrative function of the text; their special linguistic organization is necessary. The key and obligatory elements of the narrative realization are temporality (verbalized temporal sequence), causality (cause-effect relationships), referential integrity (unity of the deictic center) and focalization (evaluativeness and point of view). Using the example of the analysis of advertising discourse texts, it is established that it is the totality of these features that transforms a linear text into an element of an integral narrative space, ensuring its coherence and impact on the recipient. The material is valuable for linguistic analysis of discourse and narrative theory.

LINGUISTIC AND SEMANTIC EVOLUTION OF FRENCH WOMEN'S MAGAZINE DISCOURSE
The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the linguistic and semantic transformation of the thematic content and discursive strategies of French women's magazines using the example of Marie-Claire and Elle publications from the 1930s to the present. The study reveals a direct correlation between sociocultural changes in the French linguistic and cultural community and the editorial policy of publications, demonstrating the evolution from normative content to a pluralistic information space. It has been established that the linguistic and semantic evolution of the texts of women's journal discourse is determined by socio-cultural factors associated with the transformations of both women's personal qualities and changes in gender social roles. The material is valuable for the linguistic analysis of women's media texts and for the study of media discourse in general.

PRECEDENT COMPLEXES AS DISCOURSE-FORMING ELEMENTS OF POPULAR SCIENCE DISCOURSE
The present study is devoted to identifying and describing the structural-semantic and pragmatic features of precedent phenomenon groups functioning within a single utterance in popular science discourse. In the course of analysis, the author establishes that conjoined precedent texts are capable of entering into syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations with one another and may genetically derive from either the same or different mental source domains, thereby increasing the density of background information. The integration of precedent units based on semantic, thematic, or structural identity leads to the formation of new cognitive structures – precedent complexes – which possess powerful cognitive-heuristic potential and are directed toward implementing the intentional goals of the popularizer-addresser. Being aesthetically expressive and axiologically marked, facilitating syntonic dialogical interaction with the potential reader, precedent complexes in popular science discourse function as its active discourse-forming elements.

TO THE PROBLEM OF NEOLOGISMS IN THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE
New Anglicisms are increasingly being incorporated into the modern languages of the world, which is the subject of our research. This article focuses on some of the latest English-language borrowings that entered various languages around the world in 2020-2021, during a challenging period marked by the onset of the pandemic. During the pandemic, new English-language borrowings have appeared in various languages around the world, and the process of borrowing is not always consistent. Some borrowed words have properties that are foreign to the new language, and English-language borrowings have semantic diversity and can be easily classified into different areas of society: scientific, technical, socio-political, medical, everyday, and others, including youth slang. When it comes to modern neologisms, it is important to consider the trends that have given rise to them. One of the main drivers is the digital revolution, where the internet and social media are creating new words at a much faster rate than we can process them. The flow of digital information is constantly accelerating. The second trend can be called everyday life, in which slang constantly appears in everyday life, from which there is also no escape, you need to take everything as it is, take what appears. The third point is nutrition, through which many new words also come into the language, especially exotic fruits, to which we cannot give our name, since they do not grow in our country. The fourth trend is technology and politics, which also require new words due to the advent of new technology or political events. New words reflect the process of current life, and dictionaries, in turn, play the role of a fixation tool, reflecting what is used in speech. And it is the language that becomes an indicator of changes in speech.

FEATURES OF THE LINGUISTIC REPRESENTATION OF VANITY IN RUSSIAN AND GERMAN LINGUOCULTURES
The paper analyzes the features of the representation of the concepts ÒÙÅÑËÀÂÈÅ / EITELKEIT (Vanity) in Russian and German linguocultures. Based on data from the national corpora of the Russian and German languages, the notional, figurative, and value characteristics of the concepts are identified. The obtained results confirm the presence of both universal and specific features in the linguistic representation of vanity. It has been established that, while possessing a universal notional core representing the archiseme "emptiness / untruth," the concepts exhibit distinct national and cultural specificity. This specificity is determined by certain differences in the religious, moral, and socio-pragmatic axiological systems of the Russian and German linguocultures.

MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY WITH A METAPHORICAL COMPONENT IN THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE IN COMPARISON WITH CHINESE
Mastering Russian medical terminology presents particular difficulties for Chinese students, as metaphorical elements in anatomical and clinical vocabulary often lack direct analogues in the Chinese language and culture. This necessitates the adaptation of methods for teaching Russian as a foreign language (RFL) to the specifics of medical discourse. It is shown that the illustrative method is the most effective in the semantic interpretation of anatomical terms; commentary facilitates understanding of the etiological and historical and cultural dimensions of terminology; while linguistic guessing tasks foster analytical and intercultural competencies in students. A set of exercises has been developed to enhance lexical skills and promote critical thinking. The diversity of pedagogical approaches contributes to a higher level of acquisition of metaphorical medical terminology among Chinese learners. The study confirms that a comparative analysis of cultural analogies deepens students’ understanding of the Russian professional worldview and fosters the development of intercultural communicative competence.

THE IMAGE OF FRANCE IN THE LINGUISTIC DIMENSION: A STUDY OF FRENCH LITERATURE AT THE TURN OF THE 19TH AND 20TH CENTURIES
The article is devoted to the study of linguistic mechanisms for constructing the image of France in the works of French writers at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries. This period is considered pivotal for understanding the transformation of national identity, where literature serves as the primary instrument of reflection. The central concept examined is the "cultural code," defined as a linguocultural complex that provides a conventional basis for meaning generation. Based on textual material from É. Zola's novel "The Belly of Paris" and M. Proust's "In Search of Lost Time," two dominant codes are analyzed: the historical-urbanistic and the psychological-behavioral. The study demonstrates how these codes, verbalized through systems of toponyms, urban vocabulary, metaphors, verbs of mental activity, and syntactic structures, form a holistic multifaceted image of France.
